Learn the basics of improv through this eight-week class that focuses on listening, reacting and accepting. Improve your confidence and, at the same time, learn how to play again. This fun, interactive and informative class will have you involved from day one. It is the perfect class for anyone who has ever wondered what improv is all about and anyone who just wants to have some fun. No previous improv experience necessary. (Saturdays, 3-5pm)
In level 2, students get to stretch their improv muscles. Explore more difficult scenework techniques and delve into specialized areas of improv, such as status, emotions, characters, and complex teamwork. You will apply techniques learned during Level 1 and will be challenged to improve your skills. The games and activities taught in level 2 will help you to solidify your comfort in improv. (Saturdays, 10am-noon)
Level 3 is where you are able to apply your newfound improv knowledge, and practice, practice, practice! Some longform improv skills will be taught, which will help you cultivate solid, funny and substantial characters and scenes. This class allows you to experiment with the fundamentals you've learned, and with the help of your knowledgeable instructor, become ready to move to advanced levels. NEW TIME (Sundays, 11am-1pm)
Advanced classes available after completing level 3.
Cost: $150 for 8 weeks.
Price includes a fivefer (five admissions to any ComedySportz, ComedySportz Rec League or IMF show).
Payment in full expected the first week.
